My Story
Hello! Thank you for visiting my site! Here is a little bit about me and my Scentsy journey!
I have always loved all things "smelly good" and used to be such a candle fanatic! One day I attended an exercise convention in Greenville, NC with some friends, one being my awesome sister-in-law, Devon. There were several vendors set up at the convention center, so we walked around checking out all of the tables. I was always that girl who didn't make direct eye contact with the sales reps at these things. At that point, I was not a fan of direct sales...I kind of had a bad taste in my mouth from a different direct sales company. It was a company that had great products, but I had been basically cornered by a consultant that had a very "in your face" approach to recruiting. That completely turned me off and seemed so unauthentic. I had it in my head that all of these companies would be the same. So anyway, at the convention we passed the Scentsy table, and the consultant was super friendly and offered to let us put our names in a drawing for free Scentsy! I kind of stood back and let Devon enter the drawing.
A week or so later, Devon had gotten a follow up text from the consultant, Taylor, and Devon decided to do a Scentsy party! The next thing I knew, Devon had joined and became a consultant herself. I was intrigued and told her I wanted to check out what she got in her starter kit! I fell in love with the scents, and picked out a few warmers that I had to have! I remember smelling the scent "Perk Me Up" for the first time, it immediately took me back to a memory of being at the airport with my Grandpa and the smell of coffee in the air. That was the last trip I ever took with my Grandpa. I love how a scent can evoke that much nostalgia. There's really nothing else like it.
After getting my order together, Devon suggested that I could buy the starter kit and join Scentsy for less than my order was going to cost! So I decided to go for it, and a month later I was a Scentsy Consultant! I decided that I wasn't really going to promote my business, I was just going to buy from myself and reap the benefits of getting a discount on my products and making commission on my own sales! Well....then I saw something on my Scentsy workstation about earning all expenses paid trips...and my plan changed!
My husband and I have been married since September 22, 2001 and one of our favorite things in the world to do is TRAVEL! Nathan is my biggest fan and best friend. He has always supported me in everything I've ever done. When I found out that Scentsy does incentive trips every year, my outlook changed quite a bit. I had already learned how this product was amazing, superior quality, great variety and most importantly SAFE! I decided to start sharing Scentsy with my friends and family. I began booking parties and get togethers and I was loving it! Sharing Scentsy became addictive! I loved making samples to give out or trying to guess which scents my friends were going to love the most. It was a relaxing hobby that paid off! I never intended on recruiting anyone and some of my first recruits actually came to me....I didn't know then what Scentsy would do for all of us! Scentsy has become a second family for me and I am honored to work alongside such amazing people. I've had the pleasure of seeing so many people get exactly what they need out of Scentsy, whether it is financial , new friendships, or gaining a sense of belonging.
One of my favorite things about this company is that they operate and focus on a set of core values, one being generosity. Giving more than I take is my only real, unchanging goal in life. I am able to do that and then some and it makes my heart complete! I've been able to do fundraisers, donate Scentsy to fundraising auctions, etc.
